United Way of San Luis Obispo County Establishes Endowment Fund

Charter Donors Ed and Melanie Halpin Join Future in Bloom Society

United Way of San Luis Obispo County is pleased to announce that an endowment fund has been established. The first gift to the endowment was made by Ed and Melanie Halpin, who presented the $10,000 gift during a Halpin leadership Industries Training in June.

Ed Halpin reflected “Continued and dramatic change is on the horizon for all of us in our community and however we can positively impact the quality of people’s lives, especially our youth, is time and money well spent. Melanie and I have always cared deeply for the people we were privileged to work with and for the community in which we live. One way in reflecting that caring attitude has been to support our United Way of San Luis Obispo County and the Future in Bloom Society. Moving to action must start with examining our own hearts. We hope you will see it within yours to support this worthy cause.”

Ed and Melanie Halpin are charter members of the Future in Bloom Society, which honors supporters who make a $10,000 donation or planned gift to the endowment. Formerly the Senior Nuclear Officer for PG&E, Ed Halpin is now CEO of Halpin Leadership Industries, a consulting company specializing in organizational effectiveness.

Members of the Future in Bloom Society are creating structural change for our community, not just for today, but well into the future.
